The history begins…
Johann Klass, established in 1877, was a carpenter. Settled in the Reutlinger Wilhelm-street, he was producing high-quality handicraft equipment. The business, meanwhile under the son's Gotthold Klass management, resettled to the Reutlinger south railway station and was turned into an Embroidery Hoop factory. After the World War II, the existing know-how was used for the production of lampshades.
20th century…
The grandson of Johann Klass, also named Gotthold, didn't want to keep all options any longer open and concentrated again on the framework-production. The headquarters was moved to Pfullingen in 1982. As the company Gessmann in 1993, another embroidery hoop manufacturer in Heilbronn was closed down, the customer database and the know-how were taken over by Klass, and the Reutlinger business continued under the name Klass & Gessmann.
